This piece, “The Embrace”, was created in parallel to Passages, with the intent of capturing the snow filled winter clouds—before and after a storm.

For both paintings I wanted to capture both the weightlessness and weighty-ness of clouds, using lots of water to create washes of a dark-blue-grey pigment.

The Embrace, is an invitation to look at dark storm clouds rolling in as the bringer of comfort. A chance to turn inward, slow down, and rest as the snow blankets the world around. Both to embrace these moments for what they are, and seek solace in them, but also to view the clouds as moving in to embrace us.

Please note: The pieces of this collection are currently on exhibit at the Art & You Artist Centre, in Grimsby, Ontario until February 27th. Pieces will be packaged and shipped the first week of March.
