A fresh start. I wrap my hands around my cup of coffee as I take a deep breath of the cold winter air. Looking out over the fields, there’s a softness as sun is just peeking over the horizon and the promise of a new day is dawning. Today is a new day and there’s s much hope in this First Light.

9X12” mixed media painting on heavy watercolour paper mounted to a 1.5” deep cradled birch wood panel. (The panel has a small lip that gives the appearance of a frame.)

Part of the Quiescence collection, a series of original artwork inspired by the quiet Sunday drives through the snow-covered countryside. Paintings and sketches capturing quiet moments that comfort, help us weather through the winter, bring light to dark moments, and give hope for the new season ahead.
