I couldn’t resist. Living in Niagara’s wine country and being inspired by the world around me, I had to paint some ornaments capturing the magic of the first snowfall in the vineyards.

I mean, vineyards are beautiful in any season, but there’s just something about that first snowfall (especially on a crisp winter’s night) that adds something extra magical.

Each of the six ornaments in this series features vineyards set against a dark navy sky with snow softly falling and dusting the fields in a layer of magic. The magic of the moment is almost palpable—accentuated by the whimsical mark-making of the underpainting clearly visible in the fields and night sky.
